When I first ran across Jumbies I didn't know what to think. I saw the little stuffed Jumbies first and was really confused! They are little stuffed animals that are actually two animals mixed into one! I though, 'well these are cute, but what's the story behind them'.
So I clicked on the Story of Jumbies link and my question was answered! You have to read the story yourself to get the full affect of it, but I will sum it up for you!
The storks were flying around delivering baby animals all over the world. There were LOTS of babies to be delivered. The storks were going non-stop this way and that! Then, all the storks started crashing into each other! Luckily, none of the storks were hurt. But, when they looked at the babies, they looked different! All of the babies had gotten jumbled together! So, they called them Jumbies and took them to a private island and named it Jumbieland. The Jumbies still needed loving homes, so now, your child can adopt a Jumbie!
Once I read that, I was hooked! The story was so cute! And the Jumbies were even more cute! So, the lovely people over at Jumbies sent me two of these jumbles creatures for review. They sent me Darwin the Duckey and Samson the Sealion!
Darwin is a mix between a duck and a monkey! His DOJ (date of Jumble) is 11/9/08. He has a bio page that tells all about him. Samson is a mix between a seal and a lion! His DOJ is 9/22/08. He also has a bio page!
Before I gave the Jumbies to my boys, I decided to read them the story. While they were outside playing, I put the Jumbies on their beds and them called them into the living room. I sat them down and then read the story to them. I told them that these little Jumbies needed good homes, and that I thought that they were do a good job of taking care of two of them.
Well, they were super excited! I asked them if they wanted to adopt one each and they started jumping up and down saying 'yeah yeah yeah!!'. So, I told them to go look on their beds. They ran through the house like I had never seen them run before! I told them that they had to take very good care of them in order to keep them.
Ever since that day, they really have taken care of them. They sleep with them and make sure they don't end up on the floor! I think these Jumbies really help kids learn responsibility! I know they are helping my boys!
There are twelve Jumbies altogether! Click HERE to meet them all!
