A little about the company: (taken from information they sent me)
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is a leader in the speciatly coffee industry, and has had a long history of involvement with Fair Trade. Fair Trade Certified coffees are one of the fastest-growing segments of the specialty coffee industry. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters also boasts a large selection of Single Origin coffees. This means that all the coffee beans came from the same farm. Single Origin coffees appeal to the growing segment of coffee drinkers who appreciate the effects of terrior, or "taste of place". People want to know where their food comes from; Single Origin coffees do just this!
As well as being recognized as a leader in the specialty coffee industry, Green Mountain coffee Roasters is known for its ivvovative brewing technology. GMCR's operations are managed through two business units: the Specialty Coffee unit and the Keurig unit. The Specialty Coffee business unit produces coffee, tea and hot cocoa from its family of brands, including Tully's Coffee®, Green Mountain Coffee®, Newman's Own® Organics coffee and Timothy's World Coffee®. The Keurig business unit is a pioneer and leading manufacturer of gourmet single-cup brewing systems. The portion packs for these single-cup brewers are produced by a variety of licensed roasters, including Tully's Coffee®, Green Mountain Coffee®, Newman's Own® Organics coffee, Timothy's World Coffee®. K-Cup® portion packs are also available in a variety of tea nad hot cocoa blends. Keurig® Single-Cup Brewers are a great addition to any household or office setting because of their simplicity and the variety of choices they offer each one of their individual users.
In addition to Green Mountain Coffee Roaster's brewing options, GMCR strongly believes in its socially responsible business practices. GMCR supports local and global communities by offsetting 100% of its direct greenhouse gas emissions, investing in Fair Trade Certified™ coffee, and donating at least five percent of its pre-tax profits to social and environmental projects. I'm not sure what you think, but to me, this sounds like a high-class company! Sounds like they are doing everything right, which I love to see! And to top it off, their coffee is GREAT! I wasn't sure how I was going to like the Kenyan Highlnd Cooperatives roast because it's slightly flavored, but I LOVE it! It is fine bodied, resonant, and winey, shimmering with classic berry and citrus notes. It's even great with my French Vanilla coffee creamer! I think I just found my new brand of coffee! ;)
If you are a fanatic coffee lover like myself, you should go check out the
website and order some! It's also available in supermarkets, convenience stores, workplaces, college campuses, and restaurants around the country!
