Carmex Review & Giveaway

I love being a Carmex blog squad member! Carmex is my little obsession! If you walk around my house, you see it everywhere! It is the only lip balm used in our house!

Summer is in full swing. Most people forget about their lips while they are out in the sun having a good time. I HATE having sun burned lips. It hurts and is no fun. Carmex always comes to my rescue! Now, they have a new awesome flavor, Pomegranate!

I was sent the new Pomegranate flavor to try along with five other amazing flavors! Original, lime twist, vanilla, strawberry and cherry. All are wonderful and have SPF15! No more sun burned lips for me! The Pomegranate flavor is great. It has a nice sweet-tart smell and flavor. Not too sweet at all. It goes on super smooth and feels so nice!

Along with all the Carmex, I also received a niffty bag! I call it my boat bag. Every time we go out on our boat, I take it with me to put all my stuff in. It can hold A LOT! It is strong enough to hold it all too! The handles are look like rope. It think it is the perfect boating bag! It would also be great to take out on the beach!

One of my luck readers is going to win the same thing I received! The Carmex 'boat' bag, and the 6 Carmex flavors including the new Pomegranate flavor! Good luck!

Etsy Shop: Sarah's Treasures Review & Giveaway

Once again, I bring you another wonderful Etsy shop! Sarah's Treasures! Sarah offers a huge line of mineral makeup. Mineral makeup is so much better for your skin! I really enjoy mineral makeup! Most people don't buy mineral makeup because they don't know about it. I have learned that there are so many benefits to it, and have totally switched over. Sarah has Lip Balm, foundation, and shadows and eyeliners.

I was sent a Mineral Bronzer (dark) and the Buttercream lip balm for review. I loved that both products had Sarah's label on them. That way, when I run out, I know where they came from and can easily go back and buy more!

The Buttercream lip balm was great! On the listing in her shop it says "Enjoy the Icing on Your Birthday Cake Any Day of the Year". So, I was unsure on how I would like it. I opened it, slapped some one, and was pleasantly surprised! It smelled really good, but not overly sweet. I was afraid that it was going to taste sweet as well, but it didn't. I don't like it when lip balms are sweet. The part that I really liked it that even though it's a lip balm, and it goes on like a lip balm, it looks like a lip gloss. It leaves a nice sheen on your lips without the stickiness of lip gloss!

The Mineral Bronzer was really nice too! I was thinking that it might be too dark since I have such fair skin. Once I put it on I realized that it worked very well with my freckles! It gave me a nice sunkissed look. I didn't even feel like I was wearing it. It's very light on your skin, but still gives you a nice look. I'm very pleased!

ME: Where are you from and a little about yourself?

Sarah: I am from Lebanon, Maine (about halfway between Portsmouth, NH and Portland, ME and I have been crafting pretty much my whole life. I started making lip balms a few years ago when I found a few people writing about making their own on Craftster. I am a bit newer to mineral makeup but I really like the idea of more natural cosmetic products. I also really hate the idea of putting something on my skin that is derived from the same products I put in my car.

ME: When did you start making the items in your shop?

Sarah: I still have quite a few things that I need to add to my shop, but I started making jewelry (one of those upcoming categories) back when I was in high school. I started making journals, lip balms and mineral makeup a few years ago.

ME: How did you decide the name for your shop?

Sarah: The name for my job just came to me and it stuck. Right now I'm considering rebranding and possibly changing the name.

ME: What is your favorite thing about owning your shop and being a seller?

Sarah: The thing that I enjoy most about being a seller and owning my own shop is the ego boost I get when I have a customer tell me that my product is better than what they had been using or write to me saying they are really excited about their purchase and will be back again.

ME: What inspires you to create such beautiful pieces?

Sarah: As far as inspiration, I created my lip balms to fill a need. My makeup and journals are more inspired by what I see in magazines and on TV.

ME: What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

Sarah: Right now my favorite item is my light colored bronzer. I have very light skin and I put this over my foundation and it gives me a hint of color and shimmer without looking at all fake.

ME: Is there anything new you plan to add to your shop?

Sarah: I'm in the process of adding journals and jewelry to my shop. I'm also planning to add at least 15 more lip balm flavors by the fall.

ME: Are there any other places on the net that we can find you?

Sarah: I have a blog where I post a lot about my crafting activity as well as my graphic design and even some personal post at http://sarahmerchant.wordpress.com.

Thank you so much for the wonderful interview Sarah! I really enjoyed getting to know about you and Sarah's Treasures! Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see more from you!

ybf Skincare Review

Darrell (from ybf) and I had a battle with the mail trying to get the products to me! Some how they got lost, so he turned to FedEx. Once that happened, it got here fast! And Darrell was so nice about the whole thing. Always adding in little things to make conversation. Something you don't usually get when talking to contacts for reviews.

When the package arrived, my mom was here and we were both eager to see what goodies were in the package. In the package were the 2 main products: prep and defend. And since the mail got all messed up and it took a while to get here, Darrell also threw in their quench lip balm. Here is what I though about all the products:

PREP
Brightening Exfoliant

While Prep's microdermabrasion crystals polish, skin brightening alpha arbutin and niacin help balance uneven pigmentation for a refreshed look and more rested appearance.

Smoothes & Refines
Prep uses vitamins, soothing extracts and moisture binding botanicals to reduce inflammation, balance skin, improve overall tone and suppleness and discourage future blemishes. Prep is also an excellent treatment for men looking to improve the quality of their shaves.

Reduces Wrinkles
Peptides and antioxidants are the stars in Prep, going to work on existing wrinkles while helping to avoid the formation of new ones. Prep is especially effective at reducing wrinkles around the chin, nose and mouth as well as lines across the forehead.

Wow. This stuff is great. Blackheads are wiped away, and my face feels really nice! My face has cleared up and brightened up as well. It doesn't hurt that it smells nice too!

DEFEND
Wrinkle Prevention

Defend is a brilliantly crafted and effective formula with high percentages of ingredients that help you face the daily onslaught of damaging UV, irritants and drying environmental factors. Recently updated, Defend now contains the collagen protecting peptide, Syn-Coll as well as the addition of a new favorite in antioxidant protection, Lipochroman-6.

Balances Oil & Shine
Shiny skin isn't too often a welcome sight. On the other hand, many anti-shine products go a bit far and either make your face look chalky and drab or coated and caked. Defend feels great and does a great job of absorbing excess oil throughout the day, keeping your skin balanced and natural-looking. An added benefit to the oil absorbers in Defend is diffusion of light which softens the look of fine lines.

Hydrates & Tones
Defend feels light and pleasant, keeping your skin hydrated and toned throughout the day. Defend also increases skin's elasticity, helping you further avoid new wrinkle formation.

I have fair skin. I burn easily, therefore, I am already starting to get little wrinkles at 26. Defend is great for me because it helps with the wrinkles, but also keeps my skin balanced. I'm oily in some places and dry in others. With defend, it keeps all areas happy! :)

QUENCH
Heal

Do away with the look of lips that are winter-worn or aged-looking. Vitamin E, meadowfoam and blueberry seed oils help bring back lip's suppleness so you're ready for that holiday kiss!

Refresh
Keep your lips naturally full, bright and youthful-looking with collagen boosting, skin brightening vitamin C (the most beneficial and gentlest form of vitamin C we've found). Peppermint and clementine oils wake up your lips and add an invigorating tingle.

Protect
Our powerful blend of free radical fighting antioxidants prevent damage from stress and environmental factors while pharmaceutical-grade beeswax seals in moisture and further protects your lips.

I am picky about lip stuff. For chapped lips, the only thing I use is Carmex. But, now that I've tried quench, I'm adding it to my trusted list. It gives the tingly feeling when you put it on. That's how I know it's working. I love that feeling, and most lip balms don't have it. I got 5 samples of it. My mom took one home with her. She fell in love with it saying 'this is really good stuff!'

Overall, I am very pleased with ybf! They have nice products, nice packaging, and nice employees! Can't say that I have one bad work to say about them!

Save Your World Review & Giveaway

I was so happy when I heard from Save Your World about reviewing for them. I think that they have a wonderful cause and was excited to try their products! When you buy from Save Your World, 1 product= 1 acre of rainforest saved for 1 year! I think saving and protecting our rainforests is very important.

Did you kow? (Taken from the Save your world Press Kit)
At the current rate of destruction, half of our remaining rainforests will be gone by 2025 and complete devistation by 2060
  • Every second we lose an acre the size of two football fields
  • Every day we lose an area larger than all five boroughs of ew York City
  • Every month we lose an area about the size of New Hampshire
  • Every year we lose an area twice the size of Florida
Our rainforests need us, and Save Your World is helping out tremendously by donating a portion of the proceeds from every product sold. Their current mission is to preserve 200,000 acres of rainforest in Guyana, South America. Find out more about the mission HERE.

To review, I recieved:
As soon as I opened the package, I could smell the products. They have a very  organic/earthy smell. I really liked it! Very natural, not too overpowering. The body lotions are made with pure natural essential oils. They also have Organic Aloe and Organic Yerba Matè. My favorite was the Oasis fruit. Has a scent of grapefruit-citrus! The exfoliating bars are 100% natural hand crafted, and also have  Organic Aloe and Organic Yerba Matè. They will provide nutrient-rich antioxidants to your skin! As for the lip balms, they are non greasy (which I love), and protect while nourishing. The exforliating bars, lip balm, and all other products are scented with pure essential oils.

Overall, I love the products, and love the thought of helping my planet while using them. Please go the the Save Your World website and order! This is one purchase you wont feel guilty about!
