Etsy Shop: Pagan Cellar Jewelry & Giveaway

Here lately, I have becoming more 'girly'. I've always been girly, just a little more simple. I've really gotten into jewelry. Usually I only wear one pair of earrings, and one necklace. Only changing every once in a while. I've now discovered that it's so much fun changing around jewelry! Yeah, yeah, I'm a little behind. Tell me something I don't know...

I ran across Pagan Cellar Jewelry on Etsy. Goodness! Such pretty pieces AND in my budget! Woohoo! LOVE it! I contacted the shop owner (Bill), and here I am writing up a well deserved review! I was send a very nice pair of earrings.

These are the earrings I got and me wearing them! They are very well made, and don't bother my ears at all. Plus, they are green which is my favoite color!

ME: Where are you from and a little about yourself?

Bill: I am from Chicago, IL. I make jewelry, soaps and greeting cards. But My biggest passion is Photography. www.facebook.com/billguestphoto

ME: When did you start making the items in your shop?

Bill: I have been making jewelry for over 5 years, I opened this shop on Etsy Oct 2008. I had my soap shop since 2007!

ME: How did you decide the name for your shop?

Bill: Well Its a carry over from my other shop www.pagancellar.etsy.com where I had various oils, soaps and also did tarot card readings. I kept the name because of the high number of sales I already had and the great feedback! I also carry a small section of pagan items like pendulums, I am a member of the paganteam as well.

ME: What is your favorite thing about owning your shop and being a seller?

Bill: The best thing is making and meeting new friends! I love hanging in the chats and chatting! I also love being my own boss and making and listing as i want and need to.

ME: What inspires you to create such beautiful pieces?
Bill: I watch alot of tv shows and see pieces I would love to try to emulate. Which colors are in style, who is wearing what shapes and colors. Whether its gold, silver or antiqued metals that are in right now, etc. I also get inspiration from the wide variety of Vintage pieces I own or sell. Vintage is in.

ME: What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

Bill: My brown beaded choker. This piece took a good amount of time to make, and I used some vintage pieces for inspiration. It reminds me of something worn in the Flapper days. I just adore it.

ME: Is there anything new you plan to add to your shop?

Bill: I am working more and more with Silver and making rings. I have a few rings but i want more. Everyone loves wearing rings and I think that is a new direction for me since I mostly do earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

ME: Anything else you would like to let us know?

Bill: That in addition to jewelry and vintage, I LOVE handmade soaps. that is how i got started with etsy and my shop will be full again soon. I just opened a Brick and mortar Boutique in my downtown area and alot of my items are there until i make more!

www.facebook.com/daisyscorner is my new place. I will never leave Etsy because it helped me to get where I am today!

ME: Are there any other places on the net we that we can find you?

Bill:  www.facebook.com/pagancellar

Etsy Shop: Princessipal & Giveaway

I love jewelry that's simple, yet elegant. Something I can wear any time of the day and still look good. I ran across the Etsy shop Princessipal the other day. When I started looking at her jewelry, I realized that that's what it was. Simple, yet elegant. That's me! :) I was really impressed and started thinking that someone who makes this wonderful jewelry deserves some bloggy love!

I contacted the shop owner, Becky, and she was thrilled to work with me. She then sent me a beautiful necklace that was called 'Cleo', and a little apple charm! That very day I got it, I put it on, and went to the store. I had people commenting on it, asking where I got it, or 'wow that's really pretty!'. Ok, yeah, I'm totally sold on Princessipal's jewelry! Here is the necklace I got:

The jewelry I recieve was very well made and packaged nicely. Ha, although at first, I couldn't figure out the clasp on the necklace! It turned out to be really easy to unlatch, and I felt like a dork! :) Thanks for the help Becky!

ME: How did you decide the name for your shop?

Becky: My career is in education. My Etsy shop is my hobby, really. I love “girly” things, and I am sort of a princess at heart. I am also a principal. Thus: Princessipal!

ME: What is your favorite thing about owning your shop and being a seller?

Becky: I’ve always loved to create. I’ve done many different things from sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet, wood carving, (a few of my pieces are on my etsy site), stained glass, interior design, etc. A few years ago, I started making lanyards for the teachers in my school to encourage them to wear their ID badges. It sort of blossomed. Other schools began to order some of my things, then health clinics, and hospitals, and one day my daughter decided to put some of my items on an etsy site for me. It was a bit tense at first, but when I started to have some success, I found that I really enjoy doing it.

ME: Is there anything new you plan to add to your shop?

Becky: I add new things to my shop almost daily. I can’t seem to stick to just one style, or design. Most of my things are one-of-a-kind pieces, and there’s usually something for almost everyone’s taste. I love to keep learning.; I started with beading, then I went to setting gem stones, then polymer clay bead making, then metals (silversmith, mostly) and now I do a bit of everything all at once. Someday I might try making lamp worked glass beads, or something like that. I’m never reluctant to try something new.

Etsy Shop: Sew Amore

Etsy shop, Sew Amore, is now one of my favorite shops! Not only does Elizabeth (the wonderful shop owner) have very nice things, but it's really inexpensive too! If I can get inexpensive jewelry and accessories, I'm totally in! I asked Elizabeth if she would like to do an interview with me and she said yes! So, here is the interview (she did a great job answering the questions!).

ME: Where are you from and a little about yourself?

Elizabeth: My name's Elizabeth. I'm from Hannibal, Missouri which is famous for Mark Twain, the unsinkable Molly Brown (from the Titanic! ooh, ahh), about the stories Mark Twain wrote about (Tom Sawyer, etc). I've lived in Missouri most of my life (I've also lived in the Philippines and Virginia!) I first began sewing when I took a home ec class in highschool and loved it, but never had a sewing machine to use outside of school. It wasn't until I began a job working at Joann Fabrics over a year ago that my passion for crafts was found once again. I began sewing and joined etsy to sell zipper pouches and purses. Shortly after joining Etsy and creating a shop, I began to make jewelry and have been addicted since! I'm still learning but loving every minute of it and have a crazy obsession with the jewelry department of any store. Ha!

ME: When did you start making the items in your shop?

Elizabeth: I probably literally only began making pouches a week or two before I opened my shop. I opened with only a few pouches listed, but became a regular in the etsy chat rooms and became friends with other etsians who showed me a whole other world of things i could also make, thus introducing me to jewelry making. I've been making jewelry since November of last year and you can really tell I've learned alot since then by looking at my sold items page!

ME: How did you decide the name for your shop?

Elizabeth: I had seen other shops using the name 'sew' in adorable ways and thought it was perfect for my shop since i was originally only planning to sell sewn items such as quilts, pouches, bags, etc. I pronounce it Sew Uh-more...but realized aftering googling it (and after having already made my shop) that the word amore should be pronounced uh-more-ray..haha oh well :)

ME: What is your favorite thing about owning your shop and being a seller?

Elizabeth: I love being able to experiment with different ways of making each type of jewelry item and showing the world what I've created. With my jewelry pieces, it's nice to be able to freely create whatever comes to my mind, knowing it won't just sit around in my house somewhere. :) Also, I have a ton of fun when it comes to shipping out an item. It's like wrapping Christmas presents!

ME: What inspires you to create such beautiful pieces?

Elizabeth: I am pretty much inspired by nearly everything. Sometimes I'll see a cute top and can just imagine what sort of earrings would go great with it. Sometimes I'll be watching a tv show, see a pair of earrings on a character and think, "I could doll that up so much more!".

ME: What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

Elizabeth: My favorite item is probably the Princess Peach necklace & earrings set. I love how its bright and fun, and super girlie!

ME: Is there anything new you plan to add to your shop?

Elizabeth: I've just added adjustable button rings and stud earrings to my shop this week. I plan on having a huge selection (probably more than any other selection i currently have). It's super fun to make and i just love how they look.

ME: Anything else you would like to let us know?

Elizabeth: Right now I am having a month long sale until Mothers Day (May 9th 2010) where you can save 15% on nearly everything in my shop. It excludes shipping and destash. It's a great deal if you purchase a bracelet & a pair of earrings from my shop in the same order, because you receive a free pair of earrings with your choice of color and you get to save even more when buying sets! :)

ME: Are there any other places on the net we that we can find you?

Elizabeth: You can find me on facebook, twitter, & blogspot. Following any of these sites is helpful to know when I am having sales, giveaways and when I add new items to my shop!

Please go check out Sew Amore! She has such cute things and I know there is something there you will fall in love with! Once I get a little bit of extra money, I'm probaby going to but one of her awesome pouches! A big thanks to Elizabeth for interviewing with me and sharing her wonderful shop with us!
